Hurghada

Hurghada

Egypt is a popular holiday destination for tourists year round. This stands to reason since it is one of the few places on the planet that offers thousands of years of history as well as a modern, cosmopolitan flavor, pretty beaches, cities located in the midst of the sand, and a climate that does not bow to winter. It isn’t any surprise that all types and nationalities of people come in crowds to the Land of the Pharaohs – regardless of whether they are historians, honeymooners or hippies!

While Egypt’s culture may seem far removed, just a 6 hour flight will bring you to Hurghada International Airport which is situated right on the Red Sea Riviera! Hurghada vacations include everything that you normally expect from a vacation in the sun, such as watersports, windsurfing, restaurants, and bars. However, most of all, it is famed for its snorkeling and scuba diving clubs, where experienced divers thrive, but amateurs can participate as well.

Weather

While you are visiting Hurghada, it will soon become apparent to you why the Ancient Egyptians wore cool clothing. While many things have changed in the over 5,000 years of Egyptian history, the gorgeous weather has remained the same! You are sure to see the sun when you vacation in Hurghada, as the summer temperatures soar close to 40° Celsius while the winter temperatures rarely fall below 20° Celsius. Don’t forget to use plenty of tanning lotion when you’re relaxing poolside or at the shore.

Attractions

The Maritime Museum is one place that will draw you while you are vacationing in Hurghada. It houses fish tanks that allow you to have a close up of view of turtles and coral reefs. Hurghada is home to a plethora of aquatic gardens and underwater reefs, and you can participate in diving cruises that will allow you to swim with schools of colorful fish and explore shipwrecks and caverns.

If you would like to take in a bit of culture, visit the ancient, sun-baked Saint Anthony and Saint Paul monasteries where monks oversee ancient libraries. Or check out the Roman ruins that rise out of the sands of the desert.
